Announcements – Hilltop High School - Friday, January 9, 2026
All FFA Members: The January FFA meeting will be held today during Academy and lunch. We will be taking our group picture before the meeting. Be sure to wear FFA colors or Hilltop colors.
HS Student Council: There will be no meeting today.
There will be a crew meeting for the musical today from 3:10-4:30pm. If you are unable to attend, please see Mr. B.
Seniors - Make sure you are checking your school email so you don't miss any emails from Mrs. Fidler about scholarship opportunities.
JH Students - The JH dance is scheduled for March 27th from 6-8 PM. Please check your e-mail and vote for a dance theme.
If you are going to be in grades 8-12 next year and would like to be a contestant in the Queens of West Unity pageant in June, pick up a packet in the office.

Congratulations to the varsity girls for defeating Montpelier last night.
JH Student Council - There will be a meeting his Thursday during Academy in the HS conference room.
FFA Officer Team: There will be an officer meeting today during Academy.

There is musical rehearsal for all cast members tomorrow and Thursday from 3:10-4:30pm. Please check your schedule on Google Classroom. Also, there will be a crew meeting this Friday from 3:10-4:30pm. If you are unable to attend these, please see Mr. B.

8th graders: Meet in the library today 4th period for a 4-County presentation for your visit there in January.
JUNIORS: A ballot will be sent out to vote for prom after lunch today. You have until the end of the day tomorrow to vote.
Students: Check your email. It is very important to fill out the lunch count survey. The cafeteria needs to know if you are eating lunch here during exams.
Those in the musical: There will be a rehearsal after school tomorrow at 3:10-3:30 for Ensemble and 3:10-4:15 for named roles. If you are unable to attend, please see Mr. B.

The winner of the canned food contest is Mrs. DeGroff’s Academy. You will receive Tammy Kesler’s cupcakes. Between the elementary and the JH/HS, 845 cans of food were brought. Thank you for your generosity in giving to our food pantry.
At the Spelling Bee yesterday 1st runner up was Ethan Altman, and our spelling bee champion was Brett Neely. Congratulations!
Congratulations to the varsity boys for their win over Burr Oak last night.
The FFA Christmas doors will be judged today during lunch.

Congratulations to the following November Students of the Month: Ahlea Judy, Gavin Smith, Tessa Jones, Ivan Brehm, Carlee Schaffner, Lynley Day-Hemenway, Hannah Willson, Rachel Dickinson, Connor Prater, Bryce Peters, Braydee Towns, Nate Waue, Brayden Tyler, Lillian Snow, Tina Dickinson, Amelia Culbertson, Demi Hancock, Caelan Nofziger, and Kaydence Stough. These students will be announced out of class at 11:15 to the lobby for a picture.
Our spelling bee is today at 1:15. Good luck to the following contestants – 8th grade Lilyana Mazey, Ivan Brehm, Brett Neely, Grace Schuurman, Katelyn Yeupell, Divinity Smith 7th grade: Gavin Smith, Ethan Altman, Amelia Culbertson, Dalton Meyers, Alana Tressler, and Annalyn Bauman.
FFA Members:
- Those interested in applying for your State FFA Degrees should come to the ag room during Academy to work on your application.
- Canned food items will be collected today
- Christmas doors will be judged tomorrow.
The FFA Christmas door decorating contest will be judged tomorrow.
It's not too late to sign up for Annie! Talk to Mr. B or Mrs. Horton by the end of the day today if you are interested in joining either as an actor or crew.
Semester exams are next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. You can only be excused from study hall, CCP, or your Academy period. To do this, you must bring a parent note to the office by next Monday.
